Kristie Milos, Shares Her Struggle | A Birth Defect

“But hey, it only made me the strong person that I’m very happy being today.”

I was unlucky enough to be born with a tumor on my left eye. It was call a hemangioma. I had my first surgery at 6 weeks old and they continued through grade school. Luckily, there was no cancer involved at all. I'm blind in that eye, and the scars and stuff from my surgeries have damaged the skin permanently. I struggled through high school with people calling me a cyclops. But hey, it only made me the strong person that I'm very happy being today.
