Top Gifts for the Girl Boss Who Prioritizes Her Mental Health
Can you believe it’s already NOVEMBER? The stores have officially transformed into winter wonderlands and Santa is so not ready to be taking photos with crying kiddos in the mall every day. But hey, it’s still the most wonderful time of the year!
To help inspire your Christmas lists and shopping trips, I’ve compiled a few of my favorite things. These are great gifts for the girl boss with anxiety or for anyone who likes to prioritize their mental health.
We all know I’m a total bookworm and always have more than a dozen books on my “to-read” shelf and ten more in my Amazon shopping cart, so let’s hear it for some of my personal faves.
Spirit Junkie by Gabrielle Bernstein - This is the original book that started me on my own spiritual journey. I’m not even quite sure how I found Gabby Bernstein or what made me buy this book, but I’m positive that this was a push from my spirit guides. I discovered this book right after my brother had passed away and it was exactly what I needed. Coming from a background of addiction and eating disorders, I could relate to Gabby’s life and the gut-feeling of knowing there was more to life. I totally related to hitting rock bottom and asking God for help despite the skepticism that he existed. Spirit Junkie is a very easy read and a must-have on your personal development bookshelf.
White Hot Truth by Danielle LaPorte - I recently listened to White Hot Truth as an audiobook and between Danielle’s magically serene voice, the quotable lessons, and well needed truth bombs...I never wanted it to be over. Seriously, I was upset when the book ended. This is a great read for any woman ready to own their place in the world.
The Universe Has Your Back by Gabrielle Bernstein - Another hit by my girl, Gabby! I loved this book because it was a constant reassurance that everything is going to be okay. All the lessons in the book help you to release control over every detail in your life and let the universe do its thing. If you believe that everything happens for a reason, this book needs to be a go-to on your shelf.
You Are a Badass by Jen Sincero - For the ladies who want a more fiery in your face approach to self-help, you need to add this book to your wishlist. Jen is funny, motivational, and let’s her personality shine through in this book. Her authenticity is so refreshing and her lessons are timeless. And while you’re at it, check out her other book You Are a Badass at Making Money. It’s just as amazing, if not better! Plus your money mindset will improve, like whoa.
Unleash Your Inner Money Babe by Kathrin Zenkina - How do you feel about money? I guarantee your money mindset could be better and I’m also pretty sure you wouldn’t mind manifesting $1,000 in less than a month. In Kathrin’s workbook she helps you release any money blocks you may be having AND she teaches you how to use the law of attraction to bring more money into your life. Ladies, her strategies freaking work. In less than eight days I manifested $375 using this workbook.
Aside from books (because let’s be real, I have recommendations for days) I would totally recommend the following three items to any girl boss with anxiety or depression.
Noise Cancelling Headphones - My goodness, I just bought a pair of these and I don’t know how I was able to get anything done before them. They help you focus in on what you’re doing, avoid all the distractions going on around you, and they’re comfy!
Essential Oil Diffuser - Personally, I do not have this exact diffuser (mine is a doTerra product which is also where I buy all of my essential oils from) but if you have not invested into a diffuser yet, now is the time! Aromatherapy can reduce anxiety, ease depression, boost energy levels, speed up the healing process, and that’s just the beginning. Do your own research before diving into the world of essential oil, but I’ll just say that my life is forever changed thanks to the oil life.
Heated Blanket - I don’t know about you, but I hate being cold. Last year I received a heated blanket for Christmas and now it is an essential part of my winter workspace. I’ll turn that baby on low, toss it over me on the couch, grab my lap desk, and I can work for hours without having to worry about the temperature. If you get cold, turn the heat up. If you get warm, just turn the heat off for a bit. It’s a-m-a-z-i-n-g.
My favorite part about the items above is that they all go great together! The only thing missing from a perfect afternoon would be a cup of tea, my dog, and whatever book I’m currently reading. If you have any additional recommendations, I’d love for you to add them in the comments below.
