I'm so happy you're here! But before I get to know you a little better, lemme tell you a bit about myself and this website.
The burning question: What the hell does SPIESFitToFight mean?!
Let's hop in a time machine and shoot back to 2014. This was when SPIES Clothing was born. A clothing line dedicated to showing people with mental illness that they are not alone. Using the acronym, SPIES, which stands for Support People In Every Situation, we were able to create simple pieces of clothing that represented togetherness. Just as you would where a t-shirt representing your favorite band, you would wear SPIES Clothing to represent your respect and understanding of those living with mental illness.
Jumping back into that time machine and traveling to 2016. We're smack dab into the creation of SPIESFitToFight. FitToFight originated as a social media campaign for being fit to fight your mental illness. Anything that kept you mentally, physically, emotionally, or spiritually well was an activity that landed into being Fit To Fight. Take a pic of that activity, post it on social media, slap #SPIESFitToFight on the image and BAM you're connected with a bunch of other humans looking to live a productive and healthy life despite their mental health diagnosis.
The follow up question: Who the hell is Marissa and why should I listen to her??
Great question! I'm a confidence coach for aspiring change-makers. I'm here to help women who have survived rock bottom and are dedicated to transforming their mess into their message. I will give you the tools to find your inner strength and help you gain a new sense of courage so you can become the change-maker you were born to be!
Because let's be honest, babe... you need to take care of yourself before you can start to change the world.
Now, let's hop back into that time machine and visit teenage Marissa. As as a teenager, I was diagnosed with clinical depression, generalized anxiety disorder, and my life was almost cut short due to a crippling battle with anorexia nervosa. Thankfully, my life threatening illness was a blessing in disguise.
While hospitalized, I saw how my recovery impacted and inspired the younger girls in my eating disorder unit. Now, I no longer just needed to recover for myself, but also for them. Those young women are the reason why I’ve made it my mission to help others avoid the immense amount of suffering that can accompany mental illness.
Since that dark time, I’ve rebuilt myself through the practice of self-love, DBT, reiki, tapping, meditation, journalling, and so much more.
The life I’m living now is something I wouldn’t have been able to dream of, even five years prior.
My goal is to prove to you, that you are capable of living the life of your dreams, regardless of your past or current circumstances.
So my love, if you’re busting at the seams to bring your heart-centered business to life click right here or use the scheduler below and let's talk.
